When placing your order for in-stock lace wigs, or a custom lace wig you may see an option to choose a type of hairline.
A "natural" hairline is commonly referred to as a "straight" hairline. Where the hair grows out of your scalp in a straight area above your forhead.
A widow's peak, "M shaped hairline" or "Pointed Hairline" is where the your front hairline of the lace wig makes the shape of an "M" or comes down in a point above your forehead.
Indian Remy human hair is the most versatile for lace wigs. It can easily be curled, waved / styled and is less course than Chinese Remy hair. Most of our customers prefer Indian Remy Hair for their lace wig.
You should only choose Chinese Remy hair if you want a VERY straight lace wig, that is naturally shiny, and does not hold curl, and is slightly more course.
There are several different options you can choose when ordering a custom lace wig.
Freestyle (part anywhere)
Center Part
Left side Part
Righ side Part
If you choose the "Freestyle (part anywhere) option you will be able to part your lace wig anywhere.
If you choose you we can also create the wig to have a natural part in the center, left or right side.
We do not make a "bald part" like some wig makers, where there is a severe parting and no hair to form the part in a straight line. This looks very unnatural. Rather what we do is hand knot each individual strand of hair in particular direction that creates a "natural" part. You will still be able to part your hair in other directions, however after shaking the lace wig, you will notice that it will naturally fall according to the part direction you have chosen.
Hair extensions are very expensive, you are not only paying the for hair, but also paying a stylist to install and up-keep. Extensions require a lot of maintenance and you have to go back to the salon every couple of weeks to have your extensions maintained. This can really add up the $$$!
Extensions also damage your scalp and hair, and can actually cause you to permanently lose your hair. Many of our customers switched to wearing lace wigs after losing their hair from extensions, chemo-therapy or other health problems. Now, because of celebrities like Beyonce, Tyra Banks and Jessica Simpson, people are wearing lace wigs to change up their style, or get that special look for their wedding.
A lace wig can last for years with proper care. If you are a daily wig wearer we suggest getting a few different wigs, and alternating them, so your wigs will last much longer.
If you've never heard of a lace wig, you're not alone. In the past lace wigs were used mainly by actors and people who suffered from hair loss due to medical problems. But recently, celebrities like Beyonce and Tyra Banks are making lace wigs more widely popular. A lace wig is unlike any other wig. They are so realistic that you can be sitting right next to someone and not know they are wearing a wig. JDC Wigs uses 100% Human hair.
A lace wig is built on a very sheer lace cap, and the key feature is that at the hairline, and when parted, a lace wig looks incredibly natural, as if the hair is growing right out of the scalp. The lace is adhered to your skin and disappears, you can even wear a lace with in a a high ponytail or up do!
Whatever length you choose is how long each individual strand of hair will be. So if you order a 20 inch wig, each strand (excluding baby hairs) will be 20 inches long.
Keep in mind what style of wig you are getting. If you choose a curly or kinky perm, remember that curly hair tightens up and will fall higher. For example, a 20" wig permed in the AMANDA style may only measure out to be 18 inches long if measured curly. But when pulling the curl straight, the strand will be 20 inches.
If you are planning to have your wig cut and styled with layers, or a shorter style into a "bob" make sure your order a length that is 2-3 inches longer than your final look. After you get your wig, you can take it to the salon and have your stylist add the perfect cut for your face.
Baby hair is fine, short hair hand knotted around the perimeter. The purpose is to make the hairline look natural.
We can also customize your baby, for example, if you would prefer only baby hair in the back, or only baby hair in the front, you can add that as a note to your custom wig order.
This baby hair was pulled down away from the longer hair for demonstration purposes so that you could clearly see it. It is normally positioned along the longer hair just as normal baby hair is and can easily be combed back into the regular long hair or pulled forward as shown.
No. After purchasing your wig, you should take it to your local stylist or salon and have them cut/style it for you. That way you get the best cut and style for your face.
Our wigs are the exact length ordered. But they are not a blunt cut. For example: If you ordered a 20" wig, each strand applied to the base cap will be 20" long. So your wig will have "natural layers" because the strands at the top of your head will fall above the strands that start at the nape.
If you are going for a Rihanna inspired "bob" cut, or other shaggy/layered style be sure to order your wig 2-3 inches longer than you actually want to wear your hair. Then when your wig arrives, you can wear it to your salon and have your stylist cut it for you to give you the perfect shape for your face.
YES, Remy Hair can be styled just like regular hair. You can set it, blow dry it, hot curl it, etc. It is 100% Virgin Human Remy Hair and will style like your own natural hair does.
YES, all you have to do is braid your hair in small flat cornrows either in a beehive or straight back. Or you can wrap your hair flat back. Then use a wig cap to keep your natural hair in place. It's that simple.
Our wigs are for anyone - both young and old. Adults, Teens and children. Also perfect for cancer patients, alopecia patients, and anyone going through hair loss due to chemotherapy or scalp disease.
If you want highlights (streaks) then choice 70-30% highlights. If you want 2 color equally blended to appear as one mixed color choice 50-50% Equally Blended. However, please note that when choosing Equally Blended, the predominant color will be the lighter or brighter of the two colors.
Example: If you order #1B and #30 Equally Blended as One Mixed Color- your wig will appear to be a #30 as it will be the more predominant color.
Density is defined as how thick or thin you want your hair to be. The standard and most popular choice is 120% which is Medium Thick Density. The aveage human head is considered 100% density so 120% is thicker.
Bleached knots is a technique where we bleach out the knot that is made when each strand of hair is hand-tied into the lace at the base of the cap. It bleaches the knot out, making it a little lighter so that it does not stand out as much. It gives it a more natural appearance as though the hairs are growing out of the scalp. This is recommended when you choice a dark hair color.
JDC Wigs does not bleach the entire wig. If you choose "Bleached Knots- YES" when ordering a custom lace wig, only your front hairline will be bleached.
Also note that even though you can achieve a more natural look with bleached knots, the bleach does weaken the knot which means you may experience shedding faster than in the other areas. However our wigs are expertly hand made and with proper care should last for years with minimal shedding.
The French Lace is delicate and not detectable. It is more durable and will hold up better over the long run.
The Swiss lace is slightly thinner, it is only slightly little less detectable, however it is less durable and it rips easier.
It’s hard to tell the difference between the two. Both are undetectable. Most people order the French Lace. The Swiss Lace is not recommended for first time users. It is best to learn how to apply the wig and become skilled at the application prior to advancing to the Swiss Lace.
Thin skin is blend of polyurethane materials and imitates the appearance of skin. However, it is best used in cooler climates at it does not allow your scalp to breath like the full lace cap.
The most important questions is will you want to wear your wig in an updo or ponytail? If so you will want to choose a Full lace cap style.
There are many different style caps - the most common are the full lace cap with ear to ear stretch, the full lace cap with no stretch, front lace only cap meaning lace in the front only, full lace cap with thin skin in front and lace around entire perimeter of head.
Also known as Full Front Lace Wig, Lace Front Wig or Lace Wig. Full Lace Wigs are full wigs with the entire wig cap being designed from lace and it also has lace all around the perimeter of the wig.
With the full lace wig, you can wear your hair in high up dos and ponytails. Once applied, the wig creates it's own flawless, natural and invisible hairline.
A Front Lace or Lace Front Wig only has lace in the front of the wig and the remainder of the wig is made from a regular netted wig cap or other materials such as thin-skin. You are not able to wear a front lace wig in high up dos or ponytails.
YES, the wig is just like your regular hair so you can do all normal activities with it on such as exercising, swimming, showering, sweating, etc. No one will ever know that it is not your own natural hair. The only time you do not get it wet is the first 24 hours after applying the adhesive. There are also special water proof adhesives that you can use as well. You will want to buy a water proof glue like the Ultra Hold for swimming.

Fill yourclean sink with luke warm water (make sure there is absolutely no bleach or other harsh cleaning chemical residue in the sink)
Add a capful or less of gentle(human hair wig formulated) shampoo and dilute in the water. Never use regular shampoo on your wigs! If the wig has picked up the odor of smoke or other strong odors, you may add a teaspoon of baking soda to your basin, and blend in.
Gently swish the wig or piece in the water for about 30 seconds to a minute until the wig is saturated. Gently rub the front of the wig cap, where it meets the forehead until clean. And remember GENTLY GENTLY GENTLY!
Leave the wig soak in the wig sink for about 5 minutes
Empty the wig basin of water and rinse the wig or piece in cool water. It is very important to use cool water on curly wigs, as warm water will over-relax the curls of wigs.
Gently squeeze excess water out of wig. Do not rub or twist your wig.
Spread the wig out on a plastic wig stand and leave in a ventilated area to dry overnight. You should spray on a little leave-on wig conditioner, when you start the drying process. It is not recommended to blow dry your wig. Do not brush or style your wig while it is wet.
When the wig is entirely dry, re-style the wig gently. We recommend a wig pick or wide tooth comb. Bristle brushes, and roll brushes are not recommended.
Do not use regular shampoo/conditioner products. It is too strong for human hair wigs.
